Urinary Tract Infection Women

What is Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) – Women

The relatively frequent illness known as a urinary tract infection (UTI) is brought on when germs from the urethra enter the bladder. It’s commonly referred to as a bladder infection or cystitis and affects women more frequently than males, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen to men as well.

Patients with more severe symptoms, such as fever, intense pain, vomiting, and other signs of an infection that is developing quickly, cannot, however, be treated. Patients who already have renal or bladder issues must need more specialist care and treatment, or they can choose urgent care facilities and hospitals.

Typical Treatments Include

However, straightforward infections can be treated with:

  • Trimethoprim
  • Cephalexin
  • Other antibiotics

While more complex UTIs and infections in the kidneys may require treatment using multiple antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones, including:

  • Ciprofloxacin (Cipro)
  • Levofloxacin (Levaquin)
  • Other fluroquinolones

Even medications that numb the urethra and bladder may be provided to you if you experience discomfort or burning during peeing.

You should arrange an online appointment for men’s urinary tract infections (UTIs) as soon as you notice one or more of these symptoms.

Conjunctivitis

What is Pink Eye?

Seeking an online consultation for pink eye? Trust the capable medical professionals of Coastal Wellness.

Find out more about the issue and how we can assist:

The conjunctiva, a delicate, transparent tissue, lines the interior of our eyelids. Additionally, it covers the sclera, the white part of our eyes.

When the conjunctiva swells, pink eye, also known as conjunctivitis or pinkeye, results.

Online Doctor for Pink Eye

Even though adults can contract it, it’s usually linked to kids. Despite being very contagious, if discovered and treated in a timely manner, it is not harmful.

It’s simple to avoid any long-term pink eye effects by arranging an online pink eye consultation and adhering to the doctor’s recommendations.

Symptoms of Pink Eye

Common symptoms of pink eye can be observed in one or both eyes:

  • Itchiness
  • Redness
  • Thick discharge that can harden into a crust overnight and make it difficult to open your eyes in the morning
  • Burning sensation
  • Blurred vision
  • Increased light sensitivity

If you’re observing one or more of these symptoms, it’s best to opt for an online consultation for pinkeye so that you don’t need to see your eye doctor in person.

Causes of Pink Eye

Pink eye can be caused by a range of factors, which include:

  • Viruses
  • Bacteria
  • An allergic reaction
  • Parasites, fungi, and amoeba
  • Irritants, like shampoos, chlorine in swimming pools, and dirt
  • Certain sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) — such as gonorrhea and chlamydia — can also cause pink eye.

Typical Treatments Include

Types of Pink Eye

There are several different types of pink eye, which can cause various symptoms. If you note any of these, it’s advisable to set up a pinkeye consultation online without delay.

Viral strains are the most frequently occurring forms of pink eye. They’re also the most contagious. They cause a watery discharge and a lot of tears. As your body starts fighting the virus, you’ll probably see swollen lymph nodes near your neck.

Bacterial strains are known to infect one eye, but they can cause symptoms in both. If you get pink eye through a bacterial strain, your eyes will produce plenty of pus and mucus.

Allergic reactions that cause pink eye to lead to tears, constant itching, and redness in both eyes. As is typical of allergies, they can also cause a runny nose.

Giant papillary conjunctivitis is what medical experts believe happens due to prolonged use of contact lenses or an artificial eye. It’s also considered an allergic reaction to the presence of a foreign body.

Cold Sores

Think you might have a Cold Sore?

The herpes simplex virus, which causes cold sores, is a contagious viral infection that results in tiny blisters on the lips, mouth, or nose. For one to two days, there is tingling and pain; after that, blisters that are uncomfortable, itchy, and red appear.

The sooner you begin therapy, the better your chances are of getting rid of the epidemic rapidly. We can provide you with antiviral prescriptions online, around-the-clock.

Ear Infection

Think you might have an Ear Infection?

Both adults and children are susceptible to ear infections. Ear pain, itching, discharge, crackling or popping, and a blocked feeling are some symptoms. Children who are lying down may grab at their ears or wail.

Evidence suggests that we can safely treat ear infections online based on symptoms. At Coastal Wellness, adults are treated with antibiotics and other over-the-counter painkillers. In order to prevent giving unneeded antibiotics to children (age 5 and older), we adhere to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendation to treat pain during the first three days. For swimmer’s ear, often known as an outer ear infection, we also recommend antibiotic drops (age 5+).
